Intelligent Transportation Society (ITS) Singapore was formed in August 26, 2001. The aim of this society is to bring together the professional interests of those in public and private organizations, practitioners, academics and researchers related to ITS, and create opportunities for networking and interaction.
To promote & support the development of the ITS Industry in the interests of Singapore
To represent Singapore and support the activities and interests of the ITS Asia Pacific and ITS World Congress entities
To champion, promote & protect the interests of companies, business organisations, educational and research institutions, firms, partnerships & other entities legally organised for ITS business in Singapore
To act as the advisory, consultative & coordinating body for the ITS Industry

Mr Andrew Chow is the President, Singapore Business and Software Systems Group of ST Engineering Electronics Ltd since September 2017. He drives the company’s growth in the local business segments including Mobility, Public Safety & Security, IoT & Smart Cities, and other Information Communications Technologies.
Prior to his current role, Mr Chow served as the President of ST Electronics (Info-Comm Systems) Pte Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of ST Engineering Electronics specialising in info-communications, electronics and intelligent transportation systems.
Mr Chow graduated from the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore with a Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Honours). He also attended the Programme for Executive Development (PED) at International Institute for Management Development (IMD), Switzerland in 2006.
Mr Chow was elected as the President of the Intelligent Transportation Society of Singapore (ITSS) since 2015.
Mr Chia Kok-Hong is the Vice President for the Commercial Large Enterprises Business Unit in NCS. He is responsible for Enterprise Infrastructure, Business Applications and Engineering solutions and services across the Healthcare, Transport, FSI, Manufacturing, Logistics and Utilities segments.
Prior to joining NCS, Kok-Hong worked in Hewlett-Packard for 21 years. His last role in HP was the Director for Strategy and Planning for HP’s Asia-Pacific Enterprise business where he was responsible for market coverage and SoW growth plans for HP’s top enterprise customers.
Kok Hong holds a Bachelor of Engineering Degree with First Class Honours from the National University of Singapore.
Jaya Shankar P., received his B.Eng, M.Eng and PhD degrees in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Computer Engineering from the Nanyang Technological University of Singapore in 1994, 1996 and 2006, respectively. He began his career at I2R, A*STAR in 1996 as an R&D Engineer working in the area of mobile computing. His earlier research works covered areas related to mobile middleware and handover in heterogeneous wireless access networks.
From 1997 to 2002, he participated in several European Community funded research projects such as ACTS OnTheMove, ACTS Cameleon, IST Moby Dick and IST Diadalos by contributing to research areas related to mobile middleware, mobile IP, IPv6 and software agents. From 2008 to 2012, he held the positions of Programme Manager for High Speed Maritime Mesh Networks Programme and Department Head of Networking Protocols.
During these years, he was actively involved in IEEE 802.16n and IEEE 802.11ah standardization works. He has chaired the Singapore’s Telecommunications Standards Advisory Committee Task Force on DSRC standardization and currently jointly chairs the Singapore Standards on AV Data Management. He currently manages the Smart Mobility Solutions Programme in I2R. His current research interest includes V2X systems, road safety systems, next generation traffic control and localization.
Alan is currently the Senior Manager of the Intelligent Transport Systems Development Division in the Land Transport Authority of Singapore. He oversees a team involved in the research, development and test bedding of new technologies such as V2X, Autonomous vehicles, traffic data analytics. He also established strategic ITS collaborations and developments with the industry and academic institutions.
Alan graduated from the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore with a Bachelor Degree in Mechanical & Production Engineering (Hons) and has a Master of Science in Urban Transportation Management from SIM University.
Mr Ang Kim Siah is the Senior Vice-President, Mobility & Telematics Business Unit of ST Electronics (Info-Comm Systems) and oversees the Intelligent Transportation Business in the company.
Since joining ST Electronics in 1988, Mr Ang has been involved in numerous complex system development programmes in the area of Flight Control and Stabilised Platform Systems
Since 1995, Mr Ang has been focusing on the research and development of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), working closely with local and overseas agencies. He was granted three ITS patents and has published several papers in the area of Flight Control in international conferences including the IFAC World Congress in 1993. He has received two Prestigious IES Engineering Team Awards, one Asean Outstanding Engineering Team Award and the Singapore 2006 National Innovation Team Award.
With his wealth of experience in the area of ITS, Mr Ang was recognised as the Key Investigator in ITS R&D programmes. He is also a Council member for ITS Singapore and Advisory Committee Member of SIM University’s Master of Science, Urban Transport Management Programme.
Graduated with an Upper Honours Degree of Engineering (Electrical) from National University of Singapore in 1988, he went on to obtain a Master of Engineering from Nanyang Technological University in 1993.
Saurav Bhattacharyya (“Saurav”) is the CEO and a Co-founder of Quantum Inventions (QI), a company focusing on Mobility Intelligence. He has served ITS Singapore in various capacities ranging from Secretary to Vice President since 2007.
Saurav was awarded a number of merits:
National Merit Award for his contribution to Standards Development in Singapore by the Singapore Standards Council in 2009.
“Young Professional of the Year” by the Singapore Computer Society under the IT Leader Awards 2013 for his contributions to Singapore’s IT development, and achievement in IT innovations.
Saurav graduated from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) with Computer Engineering and pursued a research career at the Centre for High Performance Embedded Systems (CHiPES) of NTU. Over his 5 year research stint at NTU, he published over 24 papers in international academic and industrial conferences and journals spanning various industry verticals in embedded systems.
He secured his Master’s in Computer Engineering from NTU in 2006 before going on to spinoff Quantum Inventions (QI) from technology born out of NTU, together with Co-founder Prof. Thambipillai Srikanthan.
A. Prof Guan Yong Liang obtained his PhD degree from the Imperial College of London, UK, and Bachelor of Engineering degree with first class honours from the National University of Singapore. He is a tenured associate professor at the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, where he is now the Head of two industry collaboration labs: NTU-NXP Smart Mobility Lab and Schaeffler Hub for Advanced REsearch (SHARE) at NTU. His research interests broadly include coding and signal processing for communication systems, storage systems and information security systems.
Prof Guan has published an invited monograph, 3 book chapters, and over 360 journal and conference papers. He is an Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology and the Deputy Chair of the IEEE Communication Society Singapore Chapter. He has led 18 past and present externally funded research projects on V2V/V2I communication, wireless communication signal processing, coding for 10Tb/in^2 magnetic recording, acoustic telemetry for drilling application, etc., with total funding of over SGD 24 million. He has 2 granted patents
Dr. Vera Jin is the CEO of Sopra Steria Asia Pte. Ltd., a subsidiary of Sopra Steria Group. She has more than 18 years of academia and industrial experience in the Transport and IT industry. She is specialized in Artificial Intelligence and Transport Systems. In the past years, her work had served Transport Authorities and Operators in various Asian countries and the United States.
As one of the founding member of ITS Singapore in 2001, Dr. Jin plays an active role in ITS industry at national and international levels. As one of the most important parts of any Transport System, Dr. Jin and her team strongly focus on the security aspect of the solution regarding strategic data analysis and protection, architecture, encryption and monitoring systems.
Dr. Jin graduated with a System Engineering degree from Hohai University, a Master of Science in Optimization from Chinese Academy of Sciences, and a Ph.D. degree in Artificial Intelligence from the National University of Singapore.
Ms Grace Ong is the Director, Transportation Technology of Singapore’s Land Transport Authority (LTA) where she plays a leading role in planning and implementing intelligent transport systems. She is responsible for charting strategic directions to meet LTA’s vision to provide a people-centred land transport system.
Grace lead a number of flagship projects such as the Certificate Of Entitlement (COE) and Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) system, amongst others. She has spearheaded the formation of Singapore ITS Strategic Plan – Smart Mobility 2030 that shapes the future of ITS in Singapore to better meet the needs of commuters.
Ping Ping is the Vice-President, Business Development for game-based learning and simulation training within the Global Defence Division at Cubic, Singapore. Prior to her current role, she had responsibility for transportation solutions within the Company.
Before joining Cubic, Ping Ping held senior business development and marketing positions in wealth management and derivative exchange businesses across the Asia Pacific, encompassing both retail and institutional segments and regulator relations including with UOB and Chicago Mercantile Exchange.
Ping Ping holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Japanese Studies from the National University of Singapore
ITS Singapore is a member of ITS Asia Pacific, a regional society with members from Asia Pacific countries, such as China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Japan, Korea, India, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand. As a whole, the ITS Asia Pacific is part of the international ITS association, pivoted by ITS Europe (ERTICO) and ITS America.
