Intelligent Transportation Society (ITS) Singapore was formed in August 26, 2001. The aim of this society is to bring together the professional interests of those in public and private organizations, practitioners, academics and researchers related to ITS, and create opportunities for networking and interaction.
To promote & support the development of the ITS Industry in the interests of Singapore
To represent Singapore and support the activities and interests of the ITS Asia Pacific and ITS World Congress entities
To champion, promote & protect the interests of companies, business organisations, educational and research institutions, firms, partnerships & other entities legally organised for ITS business in Singapore
To act as the advisory, consultative & coordinating body for the ITS Industry
To promote, organise, manage & stage seminars, conferences, exhibitions & other events relevant to the ITS Industry
To provide a forum for members to exchange ideas and information on intelligent transportation systems.

Saurav Bhattacharyya (“Saurav”) is the CEO and a Co-founder of Quantum Inventions (QI), a company focusing on Mobility Intelligence. He has served ITS Singapore in various capacities ranging from Secretary to Vice President since 2007.
Saurav was awarded a number of merits:
National Merit Award for his contribution to Standards Development in Singapore by the Singapore Standards Council in 2009.
“Young Professional of the Year” by the Singapore Computer Society under the IT Leader Awards 2013 for his contributions to Singapore’s IT development, and achievement in IT innovations.
Saurav graduated from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) with Computer Engineering and pursued a research career at the Centre for High Performance Embedded Systems (CHiPES) of NTU. Over his 5 year research stint at NTU, he published over 24 papers in international academic and industrial conferences and journals spanning various industry verticals in embedded systems.
He secured his Master’s in Computer Engineering from NTU in 2006 before going on to spinoff Quantum Inventions (QI) from technology born out of NTU, together with Co-founder Prof. Thambipillai Srikanthan.
Mr Ang Kim Siah is the Senior Vice-President, Mobility & Telematics Business Unit of ST Electronics (Info-Comm Systems) and oversees the Intelligent Transportation Business in the company.
Since joining ST Electronics in 1988, Mr Ang has been involved in numerous complex system development programmes in the area of Flight Control and Stabilised Platform Systems
Since 1995, Mr Ang has been focusing on the research and development of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), working closely with local and overseas agencies. He was granted three ITS patents and has published several papers in the area of Flight Control in international conferences including the IFAC World Congress in 1993. He has received two Prestigious IES Engineering Team Awards, one Asean Outstanding Engineering Team Award and the Singapore 2006 National Innovation Team Award.
With his wealth of experience in the area of ITS, Mr Ang was recognised as the Key Investigator in ITS R&D programmes. He is also a Council member for ITS Singapore and Advisory Committee Member of SIM University’s Master of Science, Urban Transport Management Programme.
Graduated with an Upper Honours Degree of Engineering (Electrical) from National University of Singapore in 1988, he went on to obtain a Master of Engineering from Nanyang Technological University in 1993.
Ms Grace Ong is the Director, Transportation Technology of Singapore’s Land Transport Authority (LTA) where she plays a leading role in planning and implementing intelligent transport systems. She is responsible for charting strategic directions to meet LTA’s vision to provide a people-centred land transport system.
Grace lead a number of flagship projects such as the Certificate Of Entitlement (COE) and Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) system, amongst others. She has spearheaded the formation of Singapore ITS Strategic Plan – Smart Mobility 2030 that shapes the future of ITS in Singapore to better meet the needs of commuters.
Ms Wong Sook Kwan is currently the Manager of the Intelligent Transport Systems Development Division in the Land Transport Authority of Singapore. She leads a team that manages strategic ITS collaborations and development with the industry and academic institutions. The team focuses on research, development, and test bedding of new technologies. Sook Kwan was most recently involved as a member of the secretariat at the 26th ITS World Congress 2019 in Singapore.
Sook Kwan graduated from the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore with a Bachelor Degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering (Hons).
Mr Howie Sim leads the Client Service Unit for the Healthcare and Transport sector in NCS. He is responsible for helping clients accelerate their digital transformation journey and solve future business needs by bringing the best of digital technologies and capabilities to deliver a more personalised experience.
With over 25 years of experience, Howie’s areas of expertise include management consulting, IT consulting and business process outsourcing (BPO). He led large-scale transformation and IT projects for clients, as well as overall client relationship management.
Prior to his role at NCS, Howie served as industry practice lead for the transport sector in the Asia Pacific region at a global management consulting firm.
Howie graduated with Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Finance) and Master of Business Administration with California State University, Sacramento, USA.
Ms Lim Ping Ping is the Vice-President, Business Development for game-based learning and simulation training within the Global Defence Division at Cubic, Singapore. Prior to her current role, she had responsibility for transportation solutions within the Company.
Before joining Cubic, Ping Ping held senior business development and marketing positions in wealth management and derivative exchange businesses across the Asia Pacific, encompassing both retail and institutional segments and regulator relations including with UOB and Chicago Mercantile Exchange.
Ping Ping holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Japanese Studies from the National University of Singapore
Mr Goh Siow Chong is the Chief Information Officer of the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA), Singapore’s planning authority, and responsible for leading the use of technology to transform business processes, especially data analytics and advanced geospatial/ 3D technology for urban planning and design. He has built many digital tools and platforms to support collaborative planning across government agencies. He also oversees the URA’s Digital Planning Lab which spearheads development and experimentation of smart planning technologies, and partners research institutes and technology leaders in research collaborations. He received the Public Service Transformation (Exemplary Leader) Award in 2020.
Mr Goh graduated with Bachelor of Engineering (Computing Science) with 1st Class Honours from the Imperial College London. He also holds a Master of Technology (Software Engineering) degree from National University of Singapore, Specialist Diploma in Counselling, and Six Sigma Black-belt certification.
A.Prof Zheng Jianxin obtained his PhD degree in Advanced Materials for Micro- and Nano-Systems under the Singapore-MIT Alliance Program, and Bachelor of Engineering degree with first class honours from the National University of Singapore. He is an associate professor at Engineering cluster, Singapore Institute of Technology, where he is the programme director for the undergraduate programme in Telematics (Intelligent Transportation Systems Engineering). He is also serving as chair for outreach subcommittee in Rail and Transportation Technical Committee from Institute of Engineers Singapore (IES). His research interests include transport simulation, autonomous vehicles and sensor technologies.
Ms Suvi Schwab is the Regional Director of INIT Asia-Pacific looking after the Asian region for the INIT Group – the worldwide leading supplier of fare collection and integrated telematics solutions for public transport. She has over 10 years of experience in working with several types of Public Transport ITS topics including Inclusive Public Transport, Electromobility, Fare Collection, Passenger Counting, Mobility-as-a-Service, Scheduling & Dispatching and Fleet Management. She is also very active in social media writing articles and sharing about Public Transport.
Mr Fred Kalt is the Managing Director for Siemens Mobility’s ITS business in charge for Asia Pacific. He held several Senior Management positions in Siemens with international assignments in China, ASEAN, USA, Africa and is dedicated to the ITS industry since he took over the Siemens’ ITS Unit in Beijing for North East Asia back in 2005.
Fred studied Information Technology and Electrical Engineering in Germany and has a passion for ITS related innovations such as Shared and Autonomous Mobility and Big Data related Digital Services driving the Mobility industry.
ITS Singapore is a member of ITS Asia Pacific, a regional society with members from Asia Pacific countries, such as China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Japan, Korea, India, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand. As a whole, the ITS Asia Pacific is part of the international ITS association, pivoted by ITS Europe (ERTICO) and ITS America.
